Buns are hollowed and toasted inside by heating rods. "Dogs" are flat roasted (meat or vegan). You can't tell that the vegan dog isn't "meat." Very tasty, rewarding and filling! Great location. With your meal, go across to the ocean park and eat, enjoy the view then go near the lagoon beach park. You may be lucky to see tourists as well as sleeping sea turtles. DO NOT APPROACH OR DISTURB THE SLEEPING OR SWIMMING SEA TURTLES! ”

“ I was very skeptical prior to trying this as I thought it was just going to be a overpriced Costco-esque hot dog. I was wrong and it was actually one of the best hot dogs I've had. The store is on the side of Poipu beach - small store but easy to spot. We waited in line for about 30 minutes, but once we ordered, the food came out so fast. The buns are toasted vertically (hole in the middle) so they are crispy on the inside, then it's filled with the relish/sauce of your choice (try the Mango with Lava!), and finally with a sausage stuffed in it. The idea of a sweet relish kind of threw me off, but it was the perfect balance of heat and sweetness. Their lemonade was also very good - you can see the freshness of it since they squeeze the lemons right in front of you! You can even choose the half sweet to stay a little on the healthier side. ”

“ honestly, the polish dogs just taste like normal hot dogs with sweet, fruit flavored relish. not overly sweet, though! it was pretty balanced. i tried both the mango and pineapple relish, both were good, and i'm sure the other options were good as well - both had distinct flavors :) would definitely recommend auntie lilikoi's mustard. it wasn't crazy good, but it was enjoyable. lemonade was refreshing. i went during late january, twice, and never had to wait more than 10 minutes either time (went once an hour before closing and once right at opening). everyone there was pretty friendly and fast. ”

“ Loved the polish dog. Never had anything like it. The buns are like a small loaf of bread. They place them on these spikes over the grill and they are toasted from the inside out. Then they fill the heated bun with the topping you choose, slide the dog in and add more toppings. I had the Kauai special, spicy with mango sauce and Hawaiian mustard. Washed it down with a 1/2 sugar lemonade. We walked across the street to the Poipu beach park and sat at a picnic table to eat. A must when you are on the south shore. ”

Customers have the option to choose between a polish sausage or a veggie hot dog. Customers also have the option to add varying degrees of spice for the garlic sauce. You can also add various fruity relishes and Hawaiian (passion fruit) mustard or get more traditional toppings. I had the polish hot dog with mild garlic sauce, mango relish and Hawaiian mustard. The stuff all of it in a hole that's already in one end of the toasted bun. This place is a true gem and located right across from a gorgeous beach with plenty of picnic tables. Service was very fast as well when we arrived at noon. This place is a must if you're visiting Kauai. ”

This is a great twist on a Hawaiian Version of their Hot Dog Style the bun is sealed all around but there is a. Nice sized hole in the middle to put all of the relishes mustard or your choice of relish. It was the best Hot Dog that had a Mango Relish, Mild Garlic dressing and a Polish Dog cooked to perfection. “ Good spot! This was probably one of the most hyped spots we heard about while visiting Kauai. For lunch on a Thursday the store was packed with a line out the door. Still moved along quickly. I got the polish dog, lava habanero garlic sauce, and a mango relish. Very good! Definitely spicy. The house mustard is also a must--its sweeter than most mustards so you'll like it even if you're iffy on mustard. Overall a good experience. Worth a try but I wouldn't say its a must-have. ”
